Tosandō (note that this map depicts the provinces near the end of the official status of provinces).

Tōsandō (東山道?) was an old Japanese geographical region that made up the gokishichidō system and was situated along the central mountains of Honshū.[1] Its name literally means "Eastern Mountain Way." It also refers to a series of roads that connected the capitals (国府 kokufu?) of each of the provinces that made up the region.

The Tōsandō region encompassed eight ancient provinces.[2]
