Shaun Hampson (born 21 March 1988) is an Australian rules footballer who plays for the Carlton Football Club in the Australian Football League from 2007.
Hampson did not begin playing Australian football until 2004, but was the #1 ruckman for Queensland's Mt Gravatt Football Club by 2006. Considered the best young ruckmen in the 2006 AFL National Draft, Hampson was drafted in the priority round by the Carlton Football Club (17th pick overall). He made his debut in Round 21 of that year against the Kangaroos, and scored his first goal the following week against Melbourne with a strong kick from a set shot. He played sporadically for Carlton during 2008, sharing the ruck duties with one or both of Cameron Cloke and Matthew Kreuzer.
In addition to his height, Hampson has a high vertical leap, physically equipping him to be a quality ruckman. His lack of experience at the game is seen as the main barrier, but the club remains hopeful that he can fill a top ruckman position in the future.
