There are several orders of chivalry called the Order of Saint John, which claim as their origins the Knights Hospitaller Christian crusading order. These are the:

• Sovereign Military Order of Malta, based in Rome
• Venerable Order of Saint John, based in London, which directs St. John Ambulance
• Order of Saint John (Bailiwick of Brandenburg), based in Potsdam
• Russian tradition of the Knights Hospitaller, based in St. Petersburg, Copenhagen and Paris
