John McCarthy (born 19 November 1989) is an Australian rules footballer currently playing for Collingwood Football Club in the AFL.
Drafted with the 31st selection in the 2007 National Draft, McCarthy plays as a midfielder.[1]
His father Shane played three games for Geelong in 1970-71, brother Matthew 22 for the Cats from 2003 until he delisted at the end of 2007 and uncle Bernie amassed 148 games for North Melbourne from 1962-71.
