Ian Luder (born 1951) is the 681st Lord Mayor of the City of London, elected in 2008.
Luder studied economics and economic history at University College London before working as a tax accountant for Arthur Andersen and later Grant Thornton.[1] He regularly comments on tax matters, and helped to found the Worshipful Company of Tax Advisers.[2] He entered local government as a Labour councillor in Bedford, and was a member of Bedford Borough Council for 23 years.[3]
Luder served as a Sherrif of the City of London for 2007–2008. He was elected Lord Mayor on 29 September 2008, taking office in the "Silent Ceremony" on 7 November.[2]
