Girl Guides Australia is the national Guiding organisation in Australia. Founded in 1910, the girls-only organization became a full member of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts in 1928. It has 30,811 members (as of 2003).

Program and ideals

All youth members from 5-18 are known as Guides. However, they meet in age based groups.

Age 5-6: Pre Junior Guides (Previously Gumnut Guides) 7-10: Junior Guides (Brownies) 10-14: Girl Guides 14-18: Senior Guides (Ranger Guides) 18-30: Olave Program (Rangers)

Guide Leaders are adult volunteers aged 18 or over.

The Girl Guide emblem incorporates elements of the flag of Australia.
