At http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethiopia there is a picture of a flag at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Flag_of_Ethiopia.svg#file Supposedly this is an Ethiopian flag and that is why it has been posted at the Ethiopian site by Wikipedia. The Coat of Arms of the current Ethiopian Government is a yellow star with blue background. You can compare the flag with that of the United States here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States The Great Seal of USA is there next to the flag on the Wiki page. I am posting this opposing the use of an Ethiopian flag with the Coat of Arms of the current Ethiopian government as if it is an Ethiopian flag. The Ethiopian flag has always been one with only the green, yellow and red colors. Wiki should thus use only the one without the star. The current Ethiopian government is using an illegal flag and the people never had a say in what should be added to it. Recently, the government went as far as banning flags without the star. This is not only an unnecessary intrusion on the rights of the people, but also something irresponsible. The flag of Emperor Haile Selassie used to have a lion in the middle and they never insisted that everyone buy one with a lion. In Ethiopia they even may not know that laws apply to rules set after a certain date and what should and should not be grandfathered. I don’t think Wiki should change with the wishes of moody leaders that come and go and change flags to appease them. I expect Wiki to use the Ethiopian flag with only green, yellow and red strips without the star instead of protecting the one with a star so that users won't change it.  Yohannes Gishen
