Sophia Frederica of Mecklenburg-Schwerin (German: Sophie Friederike von Mecklenburg-Schwerin Danish: Sofie Frederikke af Mecklenburg-Schwerin, (24 August 1758, Schwerin - 29 November 1794, Sorgenfri), was a Princess and Duchess of Mecklenburg-Schwerin, by marriage Princess of Denmark.

Her father was Louis of Mecklenburg-Schwerin, second son of Christian Louis II, Duke of Mecklenburg-Schwerin, and her mother was Charlotte Sophie of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld.
She married Hereditary Prince Frederick of Denmark and Norway, the son of King Frederick V of Denmark and his second wife Juliane Marie of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel, who was the regent in Denmark between 1772 and 1784, in Copenhagen on 21 October 1774.
Sophia Frederica is described as jolly, charming and intelligent, and had a hard time inte the beginning to adapt to her new, more stiff enviroment, but she became quite popular. It is said that she was disapointed when she met her husband the first time, but they came to be fond of each other, though they were both said to have lovers. It was said, that the harmony of her marriage was caused by mutual understanding; her husband had a mistress, her companion Caja Hviid, while the father other children was rumored to be her husband's adjutant Frederik von Blücher. Her marriage is described as happy, and there was a dear that her influence over her husband would lead to her interference in politics.
