Career highlights

Daniel Motlop (born 16 March 1982) is an Indigenous Australian rules footballer in the Australian Football League.

Playing as a defender or forward, Motlop debuted in 2001 for the Kangaroos and was traded to Port Adelaide at the end of 2005 due to shoulder injuries and inconsistent form.

In the 2007 season, Motlop suffered from an ankle injury in Round 1 and a broken collarbone in Round 9. However, he came back in Round 13 against Brisbane and kicked a career best 6 goals to help set up Port's win, including a goal of the year nomination that can be seen here. In the 2008 AFL Season as of Round 10 he is 8th on the list of goals kicked in the AFL, coming of the back of a 7 goal game against the Essendon Bombers and a 5 goal game against the Fremantle Dockers, including a candidate for goal of the year He is the younger brother of footballer Shannon.

If Daniel Motlop's cousin, Marlon Motlop plays, Port Adelaide could have their third set of brothers and one set of cousins playing (Matthew and Justin Westhoff, Chad and Kane Cornes and Peter and Shaun Burgoyne).
