Britannic means of Britain, or British, as in Her Britannic Majesty, from Britannia, the Roman name for Britain.

Britannic was also the name of three ships built by Harland & Wolff for the White Star Line:

• SS Britannic (1874), holder of the Blue Riband
• HMHS Britannic (1914), sank in 1916 after hitting a mine
  • Britannic (film), a 2000 film based on the true story of the HMHS Britannic.
• RMS Britannic (1929), scrapped in 1960.
