In Vodou, and especially in Haiti, Agwé, also spelt Agoueh, is a loa who rules over the sea, fish, and aquatic plants, as well as the patron loa of fishermen and sailors. He is alternately married to Erzulie or La Sirene, and references are made to an affair with Ayida Wedo, the rainbow serpent, and wife of Dambhallah.
Offerings to Agwe are left on constructed rafts which are floated out to sea. Blue is usually his colour, and he is syncretised with the Catholic Saint Ulrich, who is depicted holding a fish. His veve, or ritual symbol, is a boat with sails.
Agwe is also a character in the musical Once on This Island as the god of water.
