Agoraphobic Nosebleed (abbreviated as ANb) is a grindcore band formed in 1994 in Massachusetts, United States. Its line-up has changed often during the years, leaving the only permanent member Scott Hull (guitars, drum programming), who also plays guitar in Pig Destroyer. The current line-up also includes vocalists Jay Randall, Kathrine Katz of Salome, and Richard Johnson of Enemy Soil and Drugs of Faith, who also plays bass guitar . Agoraphobic Nosebleed are one of the most well-known drum-machine grindcore bands, and have influenced countless drum-machine grindcore bands.[citation needed]

Through the use of drum machines, the band has been able to play songs with over a thousand BPM. The lyrics usually revolve around subjects such as drugs and violence, though many of their songs reveal ideologies similar to those held by the punk culture.
The band is known for the conciseness of its songs: Their album Altered States of America features 100 songs (including one hidden) in just under 22 minutes, with many songs clocking in at 5 seconds or less, and the longest song clocking in at 1:45.
Agoraphobic Nosebleed played their first live set at the 2003 New England Metal and Hardcore Festival. As their appearance was unscheduled, Pig Destroyer cut their set short so they could play two songs and an intro.
In 2006, Hydra Head Records reissued Agoraphobic Nosebleed's 6" PCP Torpedo as a double disc set entitled PCP Torpedo/ANbRX. The first disc consisted of the 10-song, 6-minute original single. The second disc is over an hour's worth of remixes of songs from PCP Torpedo by breakcore and noise music artists such as Xanopticon, James Plotkin, Merzbow, and Justin Broadrick.
Agoraphobic Nosebleed have many releases forthcoming. They have finished a new full length album (as yet un-titled), a split 5" with Crom and a split 5" with Insect Warfare. They are also working on a split 7" with The Endless Blockade for Relapse Records, a split 7" with Agents Of Satan (label currently unknown), a 7" with Lack Of Interest and a CD/LP with Despise You (maybe for Relapse, as yet unconfirmed). Randall is currently working on Drum Machine Gun 2 as well as doing a collaborative 7" with Wadge and a collaborative 12" with Black Mayonnaise.
James Randall posted a blog on MySpace stating that the 5' with Crom has now been re-scheduled to be pressed as a 7' because "the music can only just fit onto a 5'". The release is being pressed by RSR either next week or the week after and will likely be limited to 1000 copies.
The split 5" with Insect Warfare was released by Relapse on 7th November 2008 and is also available as a 3" clear CD. The vinyl have long sold out but the pressing info was as follows:
100 CLEAR (Not available to the public) 300 Red, 300 Black, 300 Blue.
In early January 2009, it was announced that Agoraphobic Nosebleed would play live once again, as part of the "Extreme The Dojo Vol. 21" tour in April 2009, along with Pig Destroyer, Anaal Nathrakh, The Berzerker, Cephalic Carnage and Rotten Sound. Scott Hull wrote on his blog "I feel it is the time to unleash ANb live for a second time, and this tour is perfect. ETD embodies a spirit no other tour seems to capture. Our experience with Nasum, Anal Cunt and Napalm Death is fondly cherished, and when we got the chance to do this again, I just had to jump at it. I will relish playing with both bands each night, and cannot wait. See you in the pit!"
