During the audition for Project Runway, she was overweight and got rejected. Someone withdrew from the competition, and she was called back for a second audition. By then she was 7kg lighter and fit the bill of a model. She was chosen and joined 14 other models on the show. This was her first ever modeling experience but through sheer determination she emerged as the winning model. Felix Tan who is the winner or Project Runway Malaysia was known to be a very tough person to work with but he and Jaishana shared a pretty close bond. Her patience made it easy for him to work with her. Every week he would fight to use her as his model. He even mentioned that she was his 'muse' in an exclusive interview with Female Magazine. [1]
Being the second oldest in the competition, the winning model of Project Runway Malaysia, had "walked" for several fashion shows and had a cover shot on Female magazine, the judges keep saying that she should know how to model compare to the other finalists since she had the most experience. [1]
Jay has now appeared on the covers of Female Magazine (Feb 2008), Talents Magazine (Aug 2008 and Jan 2009), Tatler (Jan 2009), New Tide (Jan 2009), and Marie Claire (Jan 2009). Besides that, jay has been walking for the Malaysia International Fashion Week, and doing a campaign shoot for Lee Ann Maxima. [2]
